Piggy-backing on the June 28 “bumbling” post, yesterday I heard someone say with a smile: “When I’m not detecting God’s clear direction on an issue or decision I’m facing, I keep walking through my days and pray that God bump me into his will.”
I love that phrasing. A surrendered desire to do God’s will is coupled with a faith that the Spirit will illuminate the next steps at just the right time. There’s no need to live in fear of “missing the signs” – if we happen to take a wrong turn, God can surely get our attention and plunk us back into the heart of his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Have you been bumped?
